The Pink & White Garden (2nd photo from right above) is the largest of all the gardens described here.
Back and center is a blueberry bush which provides year round interest including great tasting berries (see top left corner of above photo). Flanking the berry bush are a number of tall upright bloomers – some of which you can see below – Husker Red Beard Tongue, pale pink Fairytale Veronica, Red Fox Veronica, Cosmos and Darius Daylillies- all very popular with bees, butterflies and hummingbirds.
And then there is the wispy guara shown below –
and the hibiscus with saucer sized blooms – below –
Right in front of the blueberry bush is a sundial – a gift from my sister years ago – surrounded by thyme with its tiny leaves and even tinier pink blooms. The circle of thyme. I know I know. It’s corny. But it makes me laugh even while weeding.
Around the circle of time/thyme are bloomers for all (or most) seasons – dianthus, verbena, primrose, ice plant.
They are all perennials, so they come back every year. And every year – at least so far – they come back bigger and better.
While waiting, I plan to re-visit these photos frequently. I invite you to do the same.
And then – feel free to drive by to see it this summer. You can help me weed too.
P.S. Pink & White Garden Notecards are also available. They look like the photo below – only larger – 6 1/4 X 4 5/8 inches. Available for order here.
