This garden (1st photo on left above) is at the entrance to our driveway. Since we live in Chapel Hill and are long time Carolina fans, it seemed only appropriate that this garden be blue and white.
The blues pictured here are: Blue Carpet Spiked Speedwell, Darwin’s Blue Speedwell, Sunny Border Blue Veronica and Fairytale Veronica – all in the Veronica spicata family. If you look hard in the middle, you can spot a sprig of the wispy Russian Sage.
All of these plants are perennials, so this garden justs pops back up each year with little effort on my part. Each summer, I usually add a few Blue Daze (a low growing annual) and accent with a double wave white petunia or two.
Lovely. Plus they can take heavy doses of sun and heat like we often have here in Carolina.
P.S. This one is available as a notecard too. It looks like the photo below only it’s larger – 6 1/4 X 4 5/8 inches. If you’d like, you can order here.
